Corinda Pickleball Finds Another Home Indoors as Sunday Session Fills

The first Sunday morning pickleball session at Corinda State High School has filled all 20 places before it begins, extending a program that has already brought more than 1,500 games to the school’s outdoor courts.

Brisbane Pickleball Club has been running regular sessions at the Corinda campus on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with the school now also being used for indoor social play on Sunday mornings.

The new session will be held in the Sports Hall from 8am to 10am on 13 September, adding a weekend option to the existing weeknight schedule.

Pickleball Builds a Regular Rhythm at Corinda

Tuesday evenings are set aside for social and recreational players, while Thursday sessions cater to intermediate players. Both run from 6pm to 8pm on the school’s outdoor courts.

The club can also organise introductory sessions when there is enough demand from people who have not played before.

Sunday’s indoor format is aimed at players who already know the basics of the game, including scoring, court positions and key rules.

Newer players can join after attending an introductory session, while more experienced players looking for social games can also take part.

The emphasis is on recreational competition, consistency and skill development, with participants encouraged to work on longer rallies, shot placement and reducing unforced errors.

Loan paddles will also be available.

First Sunday Session Already Full

All 20 places for the first Sunday session have been filled, with a waitlist now available.

The indoor session is being run by Brisbane Pickleball Club in collaboration with Corinda State High School, extending the use of the campus beyond the club’s established evening sessions.

Participation is priced between $15 and $20.

Players are asked to arrive within 15 minutes of the starting time to help with set-up and to bring a water bottle and towel.

Pedestrian access is through Gate 3 on Patten Street, with road parking available. The Sports Hall is located to the left after entering the school grounds.

For people completely new to pickleball, the first Sunday session is not an introductory event. Further beginner sessions can be organised if there is enough demand.

With more than 1,500 games already hosted at Corinda State High School, the addition of Sunday indoor play gives the existing pickleball schedule another regular time slot and moves part of the activity into the school’s Sports Hall.
